I have lived with cholinergic urticaria for more than 30 years.
My first major urticaria crisis happened when I was around 20 years old, but I had already experienced symptoms and episodes before that. Over the years, exercise, heat, sunlight, emotional stress, and even small increases in body temperature could trigger intense itching and hives.
As time passed, the condition became deeply limiting and affected many aspects of my personal, emotional, and social life. Since I was young, urticaria made everyday situations extremely difficult, especially during school years and social activities. The constant fear of reactions slowly created anxiety, insecurity, emotional pressure, and loss of confidence.
Throughout my life, I also experienced several emotionally difficult periods involving family problems, financial stress, emotional loss, and long-term psychological pressure, which gradually affected both my emotional and physical wellbeing.
After hearing about Luis Monteiro, I decided to begin his Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment program. Throughout this process, he helped me better understand the emotional and physical roots connected to my symptoms through emotional guidance, diet, Chinese phytotherapy, and acupuncture.
Today, after more than three decades suffering from cholinergic urticaria, the difference is enormous. The itching and hives that once dominated my daily life are now minimal and much easier to control.
If before my symptoms felt like a 10 out of 10, today they are around 2 or 3 out of 10. Only a few mild reactions remain, and after living with this condition for so many years, that feels incredible.
For the first time in decades, I truly feel that I am almost free from this condition.
Another beautiful part of this journey is that I am also preparing to become a father, which has brought me even more motivation, happiness, and emotional strength during recovery.
