In 2016, I went through one of the most difficult periods of my life after developing cholinergic urticaria, which was described by health professionals as being of allergic origin.
Between Portugal and Germany, I spent countless hours in hospitals and clinics, undergoing exam after exam, but without seeing any significant improvement.
At some point, I decided to search for urticaria groups on Facebook in the hope of finding answers from people dealing with the same condition. That is when I came across a group administered by Luís, where he regularly shared information, guidance, and opinions related to chronic urticaria.
One of the first things he guided us on was nutrition. In my case, he recommended avoiding foods and sauces considered to increase internal heat from a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective. He also encouraged people to seek support from qualified Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners locally and helped many members find practitioners in their own cities or countries.
After following the guidance I received and beginning treatment, my symptoms gradually became less intense and less frequent over time. After several months, I no longer experienced episodes of cholinergic urticaria.
